The Hour of Code is an international initiative, organized by Code.org every year since 2013. Even though the need for coders increases year on year, programming is only taught in 40% of the schools. Which is why the Hour of Code was formed – to teach kids how to code.
Philips decided to join the Hour of Code in the Netherlands.
“Because we need great people to help achieve our mission, to improve the lives of 3 billion people a year by 2025”, says Gert Jan Kamstra, IT Architect and one of the Hour of Code tutors this week.
